A KARMOL entregou, na quarta-feira, dia 13 de Julho, bens alimentares de primeira necessidade e também artigos de higiene a 480 crianças de duas instituições de solidariedade social de Nacala, na província de Nampula.
Esta acção de solidariedade aconteceu no âmbito das comemorações do EID Al-Adha (festa muçulmana do sacrifício) com o objectivo de ajudar os mais frágeis, já que muitas das crianças abrangidas são órfãs e portadoras de algumas doenças, nomeadamente ao nível da subnutrição.
A iniciativa foi dirigida ao Centro de Apoio Materno Infantil Madre Pilar que acolhe 350 crianças, e ao Centro de Acolhimento UMMU AIMAN Direct Aid que presta auxílio a 130 crianças e jovens. Foram doados sobretudo bens alimentares como farinha, óleo e arroz, mas também fraldas.
O material doado foi entregue por representantes da KARMOL que, na ocasião, reforçaram o compromisso da empresa com as comunidades onde opera, com vista a melhorar as condições de vida das populações. Esta acção surge no seguimento de outras iniciativas de responsabilidade social que a KARMOL tem vindo a realizar periodicamente, prestando apoio a várias instituições sociais e hospitalares da região, acudindo também inúmeras vezes em casos de catástrofes naturais.
Maria Berenice Alzape, responsável pelo Centro de Apoio Materno Infantil Madre Pilar agradeceu a ajuda oferecida pela KARMOL, realçando que esta já não é a primeira vez que a empresa apoia as crianças acolhidas pela sua instituição. Também Hamza Daduo, responsável do Centro de Acolhimento UMMU AIMAN Direct Aid, enalteceu o gesto solidário da empresa, referindo a importância de toda a ajuda que tem vindo a receber da empresa para fazer face aos desafios do dia-a-dia.
