“Normalmente, para os clientes dos bancos, quando contraem empréstimos torna-se importante que tenham seguros para eventualidades, pois um projecto por mais que seja bem desenhado, tem obviamente riscos. E o banco, no sentido de garantir a recuperação desse crédito, recomenda aos seus clientes que tenham seguros, pois, caso algo corra mal, a seguradora poderá indemnizar o banco”, explicou Benedito Manhiça.
Por seu turno, o director de Métodos e Organização do BancABC, Octávio Manhique, disse que o principal objectivo daquela instituição bancária com esta parceria é disponibilizar os seus canais digitais para que a compra de seguros e o pagamento das indemnizações possam ser efectuados através desses mesmos canais, garantindo dessa forma uma maior segurança ao investimento no sector produtivo.

Por outro lado, a Emose e o BancABC pretendem contribuir com esta parceria para o aumento de actividades económicas nacionais a serem seguradas, sendo que no momento, e segundo as estatísticas, encontram-se abaixo de 15%.
Contudo, e mesmo considerando ser uma percentagem reduzida, Manhique afirma que a mesma pode ser encorajadora. “É nossa responsabilidade, a partir de hoje e junto com a Emose, contribuir para o aumento da taxa de penetração do seguro em Moçambique”, afirmou.
Para enfatizar a importância de aderir aos seguros. Octávio Manhique citou, a título de exemplo, o momento difícil que muitos empresários estão a atravessar na zona centro do País, após a passagem do ciclone Idai.
“É um momento de reflexão, mas também de consciencialização para que os agentes económicos se apercebam da importância do seguro para sua protecção”, frisou.
