A mineradora Vale recebeu do Governo moçambicano, através da Autoridade Tributária, a distinção de maior contribuinte no exercício económico de 2020, na categoria de Direitos Aduaneiros. As contribuições da empresa, durante o ano passado, tiveram um considerável impacto para a redução do défice financeiro.
O prémio foi entregue no dia 22 de Março, na cidade da Beira, em Sofala, durante uma cerimónia que juntou diversas organizações públicas e privadas. A atribuição deste prémio pela Autoridade Tributária pretende destacar as empresas que têm dado um contributo significativo para a receita fiscal, um instrumento útil para financiar o orçamento do Estado.
Para a Vale Moçambique, o prémio representa um importante reconhecimento do seu compromisso com o desenvolvimento do país. “Este reconhecimento é de capital importância e está em consonância com o nosso propósito de melhorar a vida e transformar o futuro juntos, pois essas contribuições ajudam a catapultar a economia do país”, garante a empresa.
Num contexto de pandemia, a Vale mostra-se satisfeita por continuar a honrar com os seus compromissos fiscais, contribuindo para o desenvolvimento do país. “Saber que contribuímos de forma significativa para a redução do défice orçamental do Governo num contexto bastante difícil de pandemia da Covid-19 é bastante gratificante para nós. Como é sabido a contribuição fiscal que as entidades canalizam para o Estado é para o desenvolvimento do país e nós como Vale estamos comprometidos com esse desenvolvimento, através do cumprimento das obrigações fiscais e responsabilidade social”.
Não é a primeira vez que a Vale Moçambique é distinguida em função do impacto das suas contribuições fiscais. Em 2018, a empresa esteve entre os três maiores contribuintes globais do país.
