É importante ter atenção às políticas de fronteiras vigentes para a entrada em Moçambique e na União Europeia, devido à situação da pandemia”, afirma o diretor-geral da LAM, João Carlos Pó Jorge, citado num comunicado.
Segundo a LAM, os voos serão efetuados através de uma aeronave Airbus A330-300, com 278 lugares, e que, entre 25 de agosto e 30 de setembro, vai ligar as duas capitais duas vezes por semana: o trajeto Maputo-Lisboa às terças-feiras e Lisboa-Maputo às quartas-feiras.
O comunicado indica que o período de pouco mais de um mês definido para a realização dos voos poderá ser prologando.
O regresso da LAM ao espaço europeu, previsto inicialmente para 31 de março, foi adiada por três vezes devido às restrições impostas pelo novo coronavírus.
Em fevereiro deste ano, o diretor-geral da LAM disse que o regresso da companhia ao espaço europeu vai colocar a LAM num novo ‘network’, considerando que a rota será sustentável.
“Olhamos a inteligência de tráfego e notamos que, de longe, esta é a rota que tem mais passageiros. Não só entre Lisboa e Maputo, como também de Maputo para Lisboa e depois para a Europa ocidental”, afirmou, então, João Carlos Pó Jorge.
Na ocasião, a companhia indicou que o retorno da LAM ao espaço europeu seria feito em cooperação com a companhia aérea privada portuguesa Hi Fly, proprietária da aeronave, e com a qual foi acordado um período experimental de seis meses.
A última vez que a LAM voou para Portugal foi em 2011, ano em que Moçambique foi banido do espaço europeu.
