O Absa Bank Moçambique vai lançar, no próximo dia 10 de Dezembro, a 4ª edição do Índice Anual de Mercados Financeiros de África, um estudo desenvolvido pelo Absa Group Limited, em parceria com o Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF).
O estudo tem por objectivos avaliar o desenvolvimento do mercado de capitais, identificar as economias com potencial de crescimento na região e as acções necessárias para permitir melhorar as condições em que acedem ao mercado com vista a atrair maiores níveis de investimento, proporcionando um crescimento económico sustentável.
A Directora da Área de Mercados do Absa Bank Moçambique, Patrícia Darsam, que fará a apresentação do estudo em colaboração com o Director da Área de Mercados para África, George Assante, explica que “este índice é um indicador importante da atractividade e flexibilidade dos mercados de capitais de África, para uso por legisladores, investidores e gestores de activos em todo o mundo. Serve como referência para avaliar o desenvolvimento do mercado financeiro de África e é um instrumento valioso para melhorar a actividade e transparência do mercado de capitais e o acesso à moeda estrangeira”, disse.
Após a apresentação do estudo, seguir-se-á uma sessão de debate que discutirá os desafios e oportunidades para o desenvolvimento do mercado financeiro moçambicano no contexto actual, em que Moçambique e o Mundo continuam a debater-se com os impactos económicos, sociais e financeiros causados pela pandemia do Covid-19.
O painel de discussão, a ser moderado pelo Director da Banca Corporativa e de Investimentos do Absa Bank Moçambique, será composto pelo Presidente da Bolsa de Valores de Moçambique, entre outras individualidades no contexto do mercado financeiro moçambicano.
