O Millennium bim promoveu no passado dia 20 de Outubro, por meio a plataforma zoom , o Webinar “Outubro Rosa Millennium bim”, para assinalar o Dia Mundial da Luta Contra o Cancro da Mama. Prevenir, Vigiar e Acarinhar foi a fórmula de combate e sensibilização para esta doença oncológica.
O evento, contou com mais de 100 participantes, moderado pela prestigiada apresentadora de TV e activista social Eunice Andrade, contou com os testemunhos de Felismina Nhantuve, que se encontra a travar uma batalha contra esta doença silenciosa, com a presença de Juju Rombe, actriz e apresentadora da TV, que partilhou a sua experiência pessoal de combate, sobrevivência e superação desta doença.
O painel integrou ainda Dr. Satish Tulsidás, Director do Serviço de Oncologia do Hospital Central de Maputo, o qual traçou o panorama do cancro da mama em Moçambique. Tulsidás trouxe uma visão positivista, alertando ainda para a importância da prevenção e detecção precoce da doença através da atenção aos sintomas e os exames regulares, como o melhor caminho a seguir. Segundo este especialista, “é difícil ter uma média de casos recuperados anualmente porque o tratamento do cancro da mama leva muito tempo. Depois da operação, o paciente ainda faz alguns tratamentos, e só depois desses tratamentos adicionais é que se pode considerar que este está 100% recuperado”.
Dr. Tulsidás acrescentou ainda que, “um doente que já teve o cancro da mama pode voltá-lo a ter, por isso é importante que este seja submetido ao exame de ecografia mamária, anualmente”.
Guilhermina Mabunda, Directora de Unidade Técnica na Direcção de Recursos Humanos do Millennium bim, falou sobre casos de Colaboradores atingidos, directa ou indirectamente pela doença, e os mecanismos de apoio implementados pela instituição.
Na fase de perguntas e respostas, foi unânime a conclusão de que, além dos exames periódicos, é fundamental adoptar estilos de vida mais saudáveis para prevenir a eclosão do cancro da mama e outras doenças oncológicas.
De acordo com Liliana Catoja, Administradora Executiva do Millennium bim, a realização do Webinar “Outubro Rosa Millennium bim”, mais do que assinalar o Dia Mundial de Luta Contra o Cancro da Mama, “inscreve-se no compromisso assumido pelo Millennium bim, há mais de 25 anos, de contribuir para o desenvolvimento do país também nos temas de cariz social. O combate ao cancro da mama, sendo um problema que afecta sobretudo as mulheres, é transversal a toda a sociedade, a qual deve ser sensibilizada para adoptar novos comportamentos e atitudes perante este flagelo”.
