O Ministério dos Recursos Minerais e Energia e a IGNITE Moçambique assinaram um acordo que visa levar energia a 1,8 milhões de pessoas que vivem nas zonas remotas do País, nos próximos três anos, através da instalação de sistemas individuais de energia solar em 300 mil casas em todas as províncias de Moçambique.
Neste contexto, mais 600 mil pessoas (120 mil agregados familiares) em média, irão receber energia, por ano, a partir da altura da implementação do projecto a ser desenvolvido pela IGNITE em parceria com o Ministério dos Recursos Minerais e Energia.
No âmbito do programa entre o Ministério dos Recursos Minerais e Energia e a IGNITE espera-se que 1.2 milhões de crianças passem a ter acesso a electricidade segura, sustentável e mais económica, substituindo energia pouco confiável como o petróleo de iluminação ou carvão natural.
A IGNITE Power, uma plataforma com vasta experiência na distribuição e financiamento de sistemas solares rurais, apresenta um dos mais rápidos crescimentos em África com o sistema de pagamento móvel Pay-As-You-Go, sendo que a empresa está presente no Ruanda e na Serra Leoa.
De acordo com Max Tonela, ministro dos Recursos Naturais e Energia, “este acordo é mais um avanço decisivo no cumprimento dos nossos objectivos de promoção de ENERGIA PARA TODOS que o Presidente da República lançou em Novembro do ano passado, o qual prevê que em 2030 todos os moçambicanos tenham acesso à energia eléctrica”.
“A IGNITE Moçambique foi escolhida como parceira após um longo e trabalhoso processo de avaliação com as nossas equipas do Ministério e do Fundo Nacional de Energia, o FUNAE, e pela sua capacidade financeira, soluções solares avançadas e experiência a implementar projectos de electrificação em larga escala”, referiu o titular da pasta dos Recursos Minerais e Energia.
