Na semana em que se comemora o Dia da Mulher Moçambicana, a Vale organizou uma palestra online para falar sobre os Desafios da Mulher a nível pessoal e profissional, no contexto da pandemia da Covid-19. Uma forma que reconhecer o papel e a importância cada vez maior da mulher moçambicana numa sociedade mais equitativa. A conferência decorreu na terça-feira, dia 6 de Abril, e destinou-se a todos os colaborares da empresa, homens e mulheres.
Marcela da Costa, 37 anos, Supervisora de Processos de Controle. Yolanda Tembe, 32 anos, Engenheira de Produção. Alita Vuma, 25 anos, Engenheira de Laboratório. Em comum estas três mulheres têm histórias de sucesso na Vale Moçambique.
“Quando o meu marido foi transferido para Tete, já na altura era funcionário da Vale, candidatei-me a uma vaga na empresa e entrei, hoje somos um casal Vale”, conta Marcela que lidera uma equipa praticamente só de homens. O grupo de trabalho que gere na Vale Moçambique é constituído por 32 colaboradores, apenas três são mulheres. Apaixonada pelo que faz reconhece que ser mulher num mundo de homens “é um desafio diário”. “Para além do desafio profissional é também um desafio de género. Temos que estar sempre a provar que somos capazes”.
‘O lugar da mulher é onde ela quiser’. Esta premissa apoiada numa política de diversidade e de inclusão tem levado a Vale Moçambique a contratar, cada vez mais, mulheres para posições geralmente ocupadas por homens. Yolanda Tembe é mais um desses exemplos. Formou-se em Engenharia de Minas e mal acabou a licenciatura começou a trabalhar na Mina da Vale, em Moatize. Quando entrou para a Vale as mulheres que trabalhavam na empresa eram, sobretudo, assistentes administrativas. “Só havia outra técnica como eu”. Hoje o cenário já é um pouco diferente. Reconhece que “o facto de sermos mulheres não nos diminui em nada. Felizmente, a Vale dá-nos a oportunidade de mostrarmos o que realmente valemos”. No seu grupo de trabalho, Yolanda é a única mulher, mas diz sentir-se ao mesmo nível dos colegas, sem discriminações.
Alita Vuma está na Vale há dois anos, concorreu a uma vaga seis meses depois de ter terminado o curso de Engenharia Química e foi admitida. Não foi uma adaptação fácil. Foi, no entanto, com o apoio dos seus directores (homens) que ganhou desenvoltura e cresceu profissionalmente. “Os meus superiores puxaram muito por mim, ajudaram-me bastante, a impor as minhas opiniões, as minhas ideias. Ajudaram-me a crescer profissionalmente, mas também pessoalmente”. Hoje Alita sente-se em casa, alimentando a ambição de “crescer mais, de evoluir e desempenhar um papel de destaque na empresa”.
Actualmente, 10% dos mais de 3600 colaboradores directos da Vale são mulheres, mas a empresa quer que esse número continue a aumentar, reforçando assim, o equilíbrio de género nas suas equipas. A mineradora mantém a mesma política para os funcionários das empresas subcontratadas. Ao todo, entre postos de trabalho directos e indirectos, a Vale dá emprego a cerca de 13 mil pessoas.
