Millennium bim patrocina “Maratona na Selva” do parque Nacional da Gorongosa
A maratona teve como objectivo sensibilizar e envolver as comunidades locais a aderirem a práticas ecologicamente responsáveis, promover a igualdade de género e a inclusão social
Sustentabilidade, educação ambiental e conservação da biodiversidade foram os motes que levaram o Millennium bim a apoiar, pelo segundo ano consecutivo, a 5 ª edição da “Maratona na Selva”, com o cunho da Federação Moçambicana de Atletismo, que decorreu no dia 13 de Agosto.
Esta iniciativa agregou as celebrações de duas datas importantes para a protecção e conservação da fauna bravia, designadamente o Dia Mundial do Leão, que se assinalou no dia 10 de Agosto e o Dia Mundial do Elefante, no dia 12 de Agosto.
O Millennium bim é o único Banco presente na Gorongosa e tem vindo a desempenhar um papel fundamental para o desenvolvimento económico e social da região através da prestação de serviços financeiros. Durante a maratona, o Banco assumiu um papel activo com os seus Colaboradores da área comercial através da realização de palestras sobre literacia financeira com enfoque na poupança.
No âmbito da realização da “Maratona na Selva”, o Administrador do Millennium bim, Albino Andrade, referiu que “o Millennium bim desenvolve uma estratégia de sustentabilidade que incorpora e promove uma cultura de responsabilidade ambiental e de combate às alterações climáticas, onde a proteção e conservação do meio ambiente, da biodiversidade, a preservação dos recursos naturais e a racionalização de consumos, constituem objectivos fundamentais. Neste sentido, procuramos ter um papel activo através do apoio a iniciativas que promovam a consciencialização para a temática da sustentabilidade como é caso da Maratona na Selva” Esta iniciativa teve por finalidade consciencializar e envolver as comunidades que vivem na região do parque Nacional da Gorongosa sobre adoção de boas práticas na protecção e conservação da fauna e flora bravia, sustentabilidade ecológica, sem descurar condutas sociais como são os casos da igualdade de género, prática do desporto e inclusão social.
