Inaugurado maior investimento turco no país
Depois do sector imobiliário, o investimento da Turquia em Moçambique chega a mais um importante sector.
Em Fevereiro, o Presidente da República, Filipe Nyusi, inaugurou a Limak Cimentos SA, que é a 13ª terceira cimenteira no país e a quarta no parque industrial da Matola. O empreendimento, tem capacidade para produzir 700 mil toneladas por ano.
É verdade que a unidade fabril opera desde 2017, mas o acto oficial do corte da fita só teve lugar no mês passado.
O investimento é do grupo turco Limak Cimentos e está avaliado em 50 milhões de dólares. A fábrica ocupa uma área de 80 mil metros quadrados. No total, o projecto criou de 141 empregos, dos quais 85% são ocupados por trabalhadores efectivos e 56% por subcontratados.
Para já, a cimenteira é descrita como sendo o maior investimento directo turco em Moçambique e também um dos dois maiores que o grupo Limak Cimentos realizou em África. Estes números “impressionaram” o Presidente da República a aceitar o convite para inaugurar a fábrica. Depois de descerrar a placa e cortar a fita, Filipe Nyusi visitou alguns departamentos da fábrica, com destaque para laboratórios. Na hora do discurso, Nyusi fez os cálculos e concluiu que a nova fábrica aumenta a capacidade instalada de produção de cimento para 4.787.500 toneladas por ano. Já a produção efectiva aumenta para 3.830.000 toneladas.
Já a embaixadora da Turquia em Maputo disse que os investimentos directos turcos em Moçambique totalizam 270 milhões de dólares, sendo que a contratação de serviços chegam a 300 milhões de dólares. Em 2016, o volume de comércio bilateral entre Moçambique e Turquia estava em torno de 115 milhões de dólares. Durante a sua visita a Maputo, o Presidente Recep Erdogan propôs trabalhar a elevar o volume bilateral para 250 milhões num curto prazo e, posteriormente, para 500 milhões de dólares.
