Com foco na retoma da actividade econômica no período pós-Covid-19, o Absa Bank Moçambique está a preparar uma estratégia para o fortalecimento e sustentabilidade das Pequenas e Médias Empresas (PME) nacionais, visando o fomento da economia local.
A informação foi revelada pelo Director da Banca de Retalho e Negócios do Banco, Pedro Carvalho, durante um programa televisivo, no qual afirmou que o Absa trabalha com várias instituições, incluindo entidades multilaterais, como o Banco Mundial, para encontrar modelos que permitam efectivamente o desenvolvimento da economia doméstica.
“Está totalmente provado, mesmo em economias de grande dimensão, que, quer a criação de emprego, quer a geração de renda de forma sustentável, passa por um segmento de PME forte e bastante desenvolvido”, disse.
Segundo o gestor, a pandemia fragilizou o modelo globalizado da economia que existia anteriormente, fortemente caracterizado por exportações e importações abrindo, dessa forma, uma janela de oportunidade para que o tecido empresarial moçambicano se foque na produção local.
“Vimos que as cadeias de fornecimento ficaram em risco, que naturalmente é mais fácil operarmos numa economia mais regional, contando com os nossos vizinhos mais próximos e com a capacidade da economia local”, afirmou.
Carvalho refere que os bancos têm um papel importante na condução desse desenvolvimento económico, mas ressalta a necessidade de adopção de um modelo altamente colaborativo entre diversas entidades, para o alcance desse desiderato.
“Nós temos que garantir que os agentes políticos, económicos e sociais trabalhem de forma articulada, evoluindo de um modelo que era altamente competitivo para um modelo que se quer agora colaborativo”.
