Voluntários Galp partilham boas energias com meninos internos da Casa do Gaiato
Um dia bem passado e muito gratificante foi o resultado da visita da equipa Galp Moçambique, no último sábado, dia 24 de Setembro, à Casa do Gaiato, em Boane, numa acção de voluntariado liderada pelos trainees do programa Generation Galp. Além de momentos de confraternização com a centena e meia de meninos desfavorecidos (“gaiatos”) que a Casa do Gaiato acolhe actualmente, os voluntários Galp também deixaram mobiliário e brinquedos, entre outros bens, e ofereceram kits de higiene (pasta dentífrica, escova de dentes e sabão) a cada um dos rapazes institucionalizados. Em troca, receberam sorrisos e gratidão, numa verdadeira partilha de boas energias.
A iniciativa, que integra o programa de formação dos trainees seleccionados de entre os 1200 graduados que concorreram ao programa Generation Galp, decorre também no âmbito do apoio que a Galp Moçambique tem vindo a prestar, há mais de dez anos, à Casa do Gaiato, tanto financeiro, como através do fornecimento de combustível e de gás doméstico.
Do programa da visita dos voluntários Galp à Casa do Gaiato constou ainda a partilha de experiências pessoais com os “gaiatos” e uma sessão conjunta de jogos e brincadeiras, como a caça ao tesouro, com a oferta de prémios aos participantes. “Esta foi uma oportunidade de, após a pandemia da COVID-19, podermos reactivar acções de voluntariado, e da melhor maneira”, disse Belarda Mondlane, trainee e uma das 25 voluntárias que visitaram a Casa do Gaiato, algumas acompanhadas dos próprios filhos. “É um privilégio para nós estarmos nessa casa a promover sorrisos, a criar memórias, a impactar a vida destas crianças através da partilha de energia”, acrescentou. Uma energia revigorante para a qual contribuíram, a montante, muitos outros colaboradores da Galp Moçambique que, de forma generosa e empenhada, se associaram a esta acção.
A irmã Quitéria, responsável pela direcção da Casa do Gaiato, confessou a importância da iniciativa para a formação dos meninos à sua guarda: “Temos a obrigação de integrar estas crianças na sociedade e, nessa perspectiva, estas visitas são muito importantes para que os meninos saibam conviver, saibam estar em sociedade”. A irmã Quitéria realçou ainda a circunstância de os voluntários Galp serem “jovens e moçambicanos”, porque, “na maioria das vezes, o voluntariado é aquele que vem de fora, e desta vez veio de dentro de Moçambique, o que é muito importante para nós”.
A Casa do Gaiato, além de ter uma escola comunitária frequentada por cerca de 600 crianças da região de Boane, acolhe cerca de 150 rapazes internos (“gaiatos”) que ali vivem, estudam e aprendem ofícios diversos – como carpintaria, mecânica, horticultura, sapataria, electricidade, canalização e serrilharia – visando tornarem-se adultos autónomos e úteis à sociedade.
