Rastony é pseudónimo de António Lisboa, natural de Guijá, província de Gaza. É empresário e músico há mais de 40 anos, tem três álbuns gravados, dos quais dois em Moçambique e um Cape Town (Cidade do Cabo), na África do Sul. O artista conta que foi na família onde teve o primeiro contacto com a música, quando, ainda criança escutava o tio que tocava duas ou três notas da guitarra e ficava maravilhado. Entretanto, foi na península Ibérica onde começou a sua carreira musical. “Na verdade, comecei a tocar e a trabalhar na música em Portugal e depois foi em Espanha que comecei a trabalhar profissionalmente”.
No seu entender, a falta de uma editora credível concorre para a banalização do mercado. “Um país que não tem editora não funciona. Tal se compara a um comboio cheio de diamantes, mas que não tem uma máquina para puxar. O diamante vai ficar como se fosse carvão, sem ter uma máquina que faça esses vagões chegarem ao destino”, exemplifica. “O que está a acontecer em Moçambique é que não temos uma máquina, uma editora credível”, lamentou o artista, reiterando que o ministério de tutela deve negociar com alguns países vizinhos como a África do Sul, no sentido de trazer editoras para Moçambique.
Estilos musicais de Rastony
Afro-jazz e o reggae são os estilos musicais com os quais Rastony mais trabalha e diz ter preferência por músicas da África Ocidental. “Gosto muito de músicas africanas, principalmente dos países da África Ocidental, porque trabalhei muito em países daquela região, nomeadamente nos Camarões, na Nigéria e em Cabo verde. Já o reggae gosto porque era a música que praticamente trazia um pouco de auto-estima a nós africanos. Vivíamos na Europa e nos sentimos mais valorizados com a música africana, então, todos nós seguimos esse ritmo, e eu até hoje continuo seguindo esses ritmos”, revelou.
Além de fazer apresentações por todo o país, o músico tem recebido convites para participar em diversos festivais no estrangeiro. Parte destes convites, segundo conta, surgem porque já o viram a actuar ao vivo e outros porque gostaram dos trabalhos que desenvolve através das redes sociais. “Já actuei na Europa, no Brasil, fui a vários sítios”.
Comparando a aceitação do seu estilo musical em Moçambique e além-fronteiras, o artista afirma que é difícil definir os gostos musicais aceites no nosso país, mas acredita que os moçambicanos apreciam as músicas dançantes, a avaliar pelo descrédito a que os estilos musicais como o Jazz têm sido sujeitos.
O mercado moçambicano e sul-africano
“Em Moçambique, os fazedores da música Jazz não têm muito espaço e o país ainda não se encontrou para poder se definir na sociedade. O que temos visto fora não é necessariamente todo o país a aceitar um tipo de música, as pessoas estão livres de aceitar o que querem, há gosto para todos”. Para o artista, a vizinha África do Sul é um sucess case no continente, dada a diversidade de estilos musicais aceites. “A África do Sul, por exemplo, está bem dividida socialmente. Há pessoas que gostam de música em Changana e estão em Limpopo, os amantes do Jazz estão em Cape Town, a música Zulu é mais [tocada em] Durban”. Ao contrário da realidade vivenciada no país de Mabiba, “em Moçambique, se um músico teve uma oportunidade, entrou no mercado e teve influência, a música vai ser tocada desde a Presidência até a barraca, do Rovuma ao Maputo, e, enquanto ele não parar, não há espaço para outras pessoas”, comparou o artista.
Rastony afirma que a música que faz vem da sua alma, sendo, por isso, uma identidade. Mas garante que não faz músicas para discotecas e não condena os músicos da área. “Aliás, é muito importante que o façam pois cada um tem que fazer a sua vontade, só que culturalmente, o país não está preparado para tal”.
Custo elevado dos discos
Segundo o artista, o Ministério da Cultura não devia existir, pois, na sua óptica, devia estar sob tutela do Ministério da Educação ou do Turismo, evitando gastos desnecessários. E sublinha: “esse ministério nunca trabalhou. Por outro lado, enfatizou a necessidade de haver uma editora credível no país e considera que o custo elevado dos 0 faz com que o público aceite consumir músicas sem grande valor”. “O público não tem problemas em consumir algo que não tenha muito valor, ou seja, se não se consegue comprar um CD a 500 meticais, opta-se por gravar no computador e vender a 50 meticais, e o público aceita isso”, explicou.
Não há apoio para a área musical
Para Rastony, todos os músicos que dedicam a vida somente à música, terminam a carreira sem nada, pois não existe nenhum tipo de suporte nesta área. “Eu corro atrás do meu trabalho e não a tentar pedir ajuda, até porque não existe apoio nesta área, se existisse já estaríamos numa sociedade avançada”, destacou.
Considera a música um motor que o impulsiona a seguir adiante em todos os sentidos, e não simplesmente um Hobbes, ou uma fonte de renda. “Música para mim é vida, é cultura é maneira de ser, de estar, de pensar, a música tira-nos o estresse, a tristeza. A música para mim não é só um Hobbes ou uma forma de ganhar dinheiro, a música ensina-me, principalmente quando estou triste, ensina-me a olhar para a frente e seguir adiante. A música é vida”, declarou.
Questionado sobre como estaria a desenvolver a sua actividade musical neste período de confinamento, o artista explica que aproveita este momento para estar no estúdio a compor, a melhorar os trabalhos antigos e a preparar-se para gravar assim que a pandemia passar.
“Alguns músicos fazem música online, mas na verdade tudo está parado. A gente não pode estar todos os dias nas redes sociais a criar imagem pois música não é apenas imagem. Por exemplo, eu fico no meu estúdio a compor, a tentar ver coisas novas, a escutar o que já tinha feito para ver o que é preciso melhorar, comunicar, mas com os meus instrumentos, com o objectivo de gravar assim que as coisas melhorarem”, declarou Rastony.
Para este ano, o artista já tinha festivais agendados no Brasil, Colômbia e Peru, mas, lamenta que tudo tenha sido encerrado devido à pandemia.
Dos três discos da sua autoria, o mais recente foi gravado em Cape Town e tem como título Kula Muzaya. “A própria música diz Kula Muzaya wu ta ni kayela ncanca, o que significa: cresce meu sobrinho para me arrancar cacana”, explicou o artista, acrescentando que o objectivo do álbum é transmitir a ideia de que “a vida do ser humano não é estática, temos de crescer e perceber que a vida que temos hoje podemos não ter amanhã”.
