O Presidente do Conselho de Administração (PCA) da Electricidade de Moçambique, E.P. (EDM), Eng.º Marcelino Gildo Alberto, apresentou, em Bruxelas, as potencialidades do Sector Energético nacional aos investidores que participam num dos maiores fóruns internacionais de energia, a Africa Energy Forum (AEF), que decorre esta semana, na capital Belga.
Na ocasião, o Eng.º Marcelino Gildo Alberto referiu-se à abundância e diversidade de recursos energéticos, especialmente de energias renováveis, que podem desempenhar um papel importante na diversificação da matriz energética nacional e consolidação do posicionamento de Moçambique como polo regional de energia eléctrica na África Austral.
“Há oportunidades claras para investimento estrangeiro no Sector Energético moçambicano, através de assistência técnica e desenvolvimento de projetos de energia”, sublinhou o PCA da EDM, fazendo menção, a título exemplificativo, ao Projecto de Construção da Central Térmica de Temane (CTT) já em curso no País.
Com um investimento de 652,3 milhões de dólares norte-americanos, a CTT prevê a geração de 450MW de energia eléctrica, num modelo de Geração em Ciclo Combinado a Base do Gás Natural, que será fornecida à EDM para a distribuição no mercado nacional e, o excedente, será exportado para a Região.
Ademais, espera-se que este Projecto aumente cerca de 16% da capacidade instalada de produção de energia no País, contribuindo para responder à demanda de cerca de 1,5 milhão de famílias, no âmbito do Programa de Acesso Universal à Energia, até 2030, e a industrialização nacional.
“O Projecto CTT inclui a construção de uma Linha de Transporte de 400kV (TTP), avaliada em cerca de 500 milhões de dólares norte-americanos, com uma extensão de cerca de 563 km, ligando Temane a Maputo, passando por quatro (04)
Subestações”, explicou o timoneiro da EDM, para depois acrescentar que a referida infraestrutura “representa a primeira fase do desenvolvimento do Projecto da “Espinha Dorsal” do sistema de transporte de energia de Alta Tensão, potenciando, por um lado, a actividade agrícola e a mineração ao longo do trajecto da Linha, e, por outro, melhorando a segurança e estabilidade da Rede Eléctrica, através da interligação da Rede Sul com as Redes Centro e Norte do País”.
Por conseguinte, toda a cadeia dos projectos de geração de Gás e Energia de Temane, incluindo a Planta de Gás, GPL e infra-estrutura de transporte, geridos pelo consórcio Empesa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH), Sasol e Globeleq, terão um investimento global de aproximadamente dois mil milhões de dólares norte-americanos, fundos disponibilizados por vários Parceiros de Cooperação, os quais depositam confiança no sucesso dos Projectos implementados no País.
“Este exemplo estruturante demonstra que Moçambique oferece as condições para a participação activa dos investidores internacionais, especialmente no segmento das energias renováveis, primordial para mitigar o impacto das mudanças climáticas que tantos danos tem causado ao planeta, em alinhamento com os Acordos de Paris para a redução do aquecimento global”, concluiu o PCA da EDM.
