O Millennium bim apoia e solidariza-se com as famílias moçambicanas que vivem, neste momento, na condição de deslocados devido aos ataques terroristas em Cabo Delgado, no norte de Moçambique.
Nesse âmbito, o Banco em parceria com a Seguradora Ímpar, ofereceram 1000 kits de construção e produtos alimentares visando ajudar as famílias reassentadas na localidade de Nanjua, Distrito de Ancuabe, a reconstruírem as suas vidas. Os kits, entregues por José Mesquita, Director coordenador do Millennium bim, são constituídos por enxadas, catanas, ancinhos, limas, machados e produtos alimentares de primeira necessidade.
Este apoio do Banco visa contribuir para a melhoria do quotidiano dos cidadãos que, por causa da insegurança resultante da insurgência em Cabo Delgado, foram obrigados a fugir das suas casas, deixando tudo para trás e passando a viver numa situação de grande vulnerabilidade, incapazes de suprir as necessidades básicas do dia-a-dia. Assim, o apoio do Millennium bim pretende contribuir para a construção de habitações, garantir bens alimentares aos deslocados e incentivar o desenvolvimento de actividades de geração de renda.
O Secretário de Estado da Província de Cabo Delgado, Professor Catedrático Armindo Ngunga, disse na ocasião que este apoio veio numa altura de grande adversidade para a nação moçambicana, servindo como uma verdadeira alavanca de suporte na concretização de todo apoio que o Governo tem estado a disponibilizar para as famílias afectadas pelos ataques armados em cabo Delgado. “Esta acção vem sustentar a capacidade financeira do Governo na alocação das últimas famílias no centro de reassentamento, totalizando assim o número de alojados em 1000 (mil)”, sublinhou o executivo.
Segundo José Mesquita, Director Coordenador do Millennium bim, este apoio aos deslocados de Cabo Delgado, o segundo do Banco este ano, evidencia “o nosso compromisso para com Moçambique, através do desenvolvimento de iniciativas que fomentam o bem-estar das comunidades, nos seus diversos contextos. Este donativo comporta também a dimensão humana e fraterna dos nossos Colaboradores, os quais, além do inestimável profissionalismo e talento na prestação dos melhores serviços bancários do país, manifestam assim a sua solidariedade incondicional para com os concidadãos moçambicanos que atravessam um momento particularmente difícil nas suas vidas”.
Ao longo do percurso de 25 anos, o Millennium bim sempre privilegiou, e continua a privilegiar, a proximidade com as comunidades, designadamente através do programa de Responsabilidade Social “Mais Moçambique pra Mim”, cujas actividades são, muitas vezes, desenvolvidas em parceria com entidades locais, da sociedade civil, governamentais e internacionais. O objectivo destas actividades é conseguir concretizar sonhos e desenvolver projectos que vão de encontro às necessidades e aspirações das comunidades.
