O conselho Municipal da Vila de Moatize entregou, recentemente, mais de mil títulos de Direito de Uso e Aproveitamento de Terra (DUAT) a igual número de famílias reassentadas na Cateme e no bairro de Chipanga. A acção foi levada a cabo em parceira com a mineradora Vale Moçambique que continua empenhada em concluir o processo de reassentamento daquela população.
A entrega de DUAT´s decorreu de forma faseada, tendo numa primeira fase beneficiado mais de 290 famílias reassentadas no bairro de Chipanga e, posteriormente, abrangido 712 famílias de Cateme.
No bairro de Chipanga, os DUAT´s foram entregues à comunidade, no dia 27 de Maio, durante uma cerimônia que contou com a presença do Presidente do Conselho Municipal da Vila de Moatize, Carlos Portimão, representantes da Vale Moçambique, líderes comunitários e comunidade.
Na ocasião, Carlos Portimão agradeceu o apoio da empresa destacando a importância do DUAT enquanto garante da propriedade da terra para as comunidades. “A aquisição de DUAT´s é um marco muito importante para estas famílias, pois estes são documentos que dão poder de pertença da terra para qualquer eventualidade”, referiu.
Na Cateme, a cerimônia de entrega de DUAT´s decorreu no último sábado, dia 5 de Junho, enquadrada no âmbito das celebrações do Dia Mundial do Ambiente. Participaram do evento o Chefe do Gabinete do Governador, Romeu António (em representação do Governador da província); o Secretário Permanente do Distrito de Moatize, Salvador Zacarias; o representante da Vale; o gerente de sustentabilidade de África, Marco Frões; líderes comunitários; e comunidade em geral.
Para as famílias beneficiárias, a acção da edilidade, em parceria com a Vale Moçambique, é de grande relevância nas comunidades, uma vez que vem certificar que ninguém poderá usurpar o seu espaço.
“O sentimento é indescritível, pela primeira vez vou habitar numa terra de que ninguém se vai poder apoderar e mesmo que um dia não esteja mais aqui os meus descendentes poderão habitar nela sem conflitos”, sublinhou António Separado, residente em Chipanga.
Em nome das famílias de Cateme, Gilo Egídio destacou o poder do DUAT em caso de eventuais conflitos. “O DUAT é fundamental na resolução de problemas relacionadas com a terra nas nossas comunidades e essa parceria entre o governo e a Vale mostra que o trabalho em conjunto leva a resultados positivos”, afirmou.
A mineradora Vale acredita que a obtenção de DUAT´s pela comunidade vem reforçar a intenção da empresa em continuar a trabalhar para melhorar o relacionamento com as comunidades. “Os investimentos da Vale no bairro de Chipanga não se limitam apenas ao financiamento para a obtenção de DUAT´s. Ao longo deste processo, e em parceria com o Conselho Municipal, investimos em saúde, escolas, campo de futebol, etc. Para nós, o maior foco passa por melhorar o relacionamento entre a Vale e as comunidades que foram impactadas pela implantação do projecto da mina de Carvão”, sublinhou Marco Frões, Gerente de Sustentabilidade da Vale Moçambique.
