O Access Bank Mozambique apoiou a requalificação e a pintura do ‘Muro da Biodiversidade’ que foi inaugurado, na sexta-feira, dia 31 de Março, em Maputo. O Muro fica localizado à saída do Aeroporto Internacional de Maputo e pretende ser uma chamada de atenção para a preservação da biodiversidade e para o combate à caça furtiva.
Esta iniciativa insere-se no projecto “Preservação da Nossa Fauna”, levado a cabo pela empresa Reciclagem e Serviços, em parceria com os Aeroportos de Moçambique, Conselho Municipal da Cidade de Maputo e Ministério da Terra e Ambiente, entre outros.
Enquanto Banco responsável e atento às questões ambientais, o Access Bank juntou-se a esta causa que tem como principal objectivo despertar e sensibilizar a sociedade para a necessidade de preservação da biodiversidade e das espécies da flora e fauna bravia e marinha, em risco de extinção. O espaço é reflexo da preocupação que o país tem com o meio ambiente e, por estar à saída do aeroporto, é também a primeira imagem para quem visita a Cidade de Maputo.
Ao longo do Muro foram pintados 45 murais, com imagens de espécies emblemáticas da fauna e flora Moçambicana, acompanhadas de frases de várias figuras conhecidas que também se quiseram associar a esta iniciativa, entre elas a activista Graça Machel, o escritor Mia Couto, o artista Stewart Sukuma e o ambientalista Carlos Serra.
Como forma de reforçar a mensagem para a preservação de espécies em risco de extinção, o Access Bank representou no seu mural o leopardo, um dos animais mais ameaçados no mundo devido a conflitos civis e à caça furtiva.
O Administrador Delegado do Access Bank Mozambique, Marco Abalroado, considera que “esta iniciativa vem reforçar a importância de se mudarem hábitos e de se promover uma maior sensibilização à volta destes temas”. “Contribuirmos para a conservação do meio ambiente, ecossistema marinho e florestal, e combatermos a caça furtiva em Moçambique é uma responsabilidade de todos”, sustentou o mesmo responsável frisando a importância da educação ambiental.
Enquanto Banco responsável, o Access Bank está totalmente comprometido com a conservação do meio ambiente, sendo a salvaguarda da sustentabilidade do Planeta uma acção prioritária.
