Access Bank junta-se à campanha mundial de sensibilização contra o cancro da mama e colo do útero
Durante o mês de Outubro, o Access Bank Mozambique juntou-se à campanha mundial de sensibilização contra o cancro da mama e do colo do útero. Uma campanha pretende alertar a sociedade para esta realidade e prestar solidariedade às vítimas com o objectivo de angariar fundos para apoio à causa, nomeadamente no que toca a tratamentos e medicamentos.
O banco tem vindo a realizar várias iniciativas de sensibilização como a divulgação de informação sobre a doença, a distribuição de laços cor-de-rosa por todos os colaboradores, o convite aos colaboradores a vestirem-se de cor-de-rosa, às sextas-feiras, para chamar a atenção para uma luta que é de todos.
Em parceria com a Associação Renascer, realizou também, no dia 21, uma palestra que abordou temáticas como a prevenção, apoios à doença, auto-estima e superação.
A palestra teve como objectivo informar e divulgar a doença de forma a mudar a atitude e o comportamento da sociedade. Foram oradoras Carolina Araújo, médica especialista em Ginecologia e Obstetricia; Marisa Martins e Olga Sousa, ambas activistas. As especialistas abordaram, sem tabus, as diversas temáticas associadas ao cancro. Neste encontro participaram também algumas pessoas que, tal como as palestrantes, já foram vítimas da doença (homens e mulheres), tendo superado o cancro e reconstruído as suas vidas.
Com o apoio dos seus parceiros, nomeadamente o projecto Renascer e a clínica Thula-Thula, o Access Bank fez do mês de Outubro um período de consciencialização do cancro da mama e do colo do útero, alertando para as várias formas da doença e para a importância de um diagnóstico precoce.
Estas acções enquadram-se no ‘W- Initiative’, um programa do Access Bank que apoia a Mulher a vários níveis, incluindo na saúde, educação e empreendedorismo, entre outros.
Dados oficiais partilhados pelas autoridades moçambicanas de saúde indicam que 17 mil pessoas morreram vítimas de cancro da mama no último ano. Uma estatística que, gradualmente, aumenta no país. A informação desperta a necessidade contínua da união de todos no combate a este mal. Enquanto banco socialmente responsável, o Access Bank junta-se também a esta causa que é de todos.
